The foundational components of the Will and Trust forms that are generated for each user through Herbie have been vetted by attorneys in every state in which Herbie is available. During this vetting process, the forms were approved by attorneys in each state for compliance with applicable state laws at the time of review. An attorney does not personally review your individual documents.

Each state in the US has its own policy for what makes a valid Will or Trust. In general, Wills are required to be signed by hand, with witnesses that are present. Various states are passing laws that make electronic signing of Wills valid, but subject to very strict requirements. As of today, all documents prepared through Herbie can be downloaded, along with signing instructions that we provide so that you can sign and notarize your documents on your own. We do not provide for electronic signatures or electronic notarization within the platform.
